I really appreciate the support I got yesterday for the excruciating trauma I experienced from selling a painting. I know it was absurd, but none of us is uncomplicated. And, the only way out is through.

Looks very warm xxx
It’s wonderful, but redundant. 😀
😊
It looks like a nativity schene now, Martha–Madonna and child!
Nope! 🙂 But the COLOR down there was once reserved ONLY for the Madonna. ❤
I know it isn’t, but just glance at the unenlarged view…
I added to my comment. I like that’s what you saw. There’s a good reason for it!
Oh good.. I was afraid you ‘d taken it the wrong way. I know it wasn’t finished but it was a bit like those who see the Virgin Mary in a pine knot or a stain on the wall and the neighbors come and it becomes a holy shrine!
Oh no! For me the Virgin Mary is somewhere in every painting done in ultramarine blue. It was so rare back in the day and so expensive that ONLY the Virgin Mary (and sometimes Jesus) was painted with it.
I finally got (and used but not on this painting — yet) some REAL ultramarine made with lapis and it’s a truly amazing color. It’s not this intense (this is synthetic) but it’s very very beautiful and extremely friendly, like, “Hi Martha, what do you want me to be for you today?”
