I have three left. Today I reached the point with horses that I’m happy to draw them. If I were doing this project AGAIN I would draw much larger as human faces at this scale are very difficult. Still, the project is mostly fun and definitely good for me as the variety is incredible. 🙂
My mother often talked about riding the plow horse on her grandmother’s farm. The horse was so wide her legs stuck out! Anyway I love these drawings – I can only imagine that the story is good too!
The book will introduce the world to a little know part of the US. It’s a sweet project and I’ve enjoyed working with the author. I’ve learned a lot, too. My grandma’s family (mom, etc.) had two Percherons. I have photos. My grandma didn’t even come up to the horses’ shoulders. I would really like to meet one of those kinds of horses.
These are so good, Martha, but I really like the fire under the skillet.
🙂 Thank you
I love the big horse
Thank you. I loved drawing that guy. ❤
These are both beautiful, Martha. ❤️
Thank you 🙂 ❤
You’re so welcome. Each of your drawings hits a place in my heart. From the cast iron I cooked trout in the 13 years camping on my favorite river with my sons, to seeing the kids on horse, and the Western images from a time in which I desired to have live; or did I? Because it feels as though I did. 💛
If my pictures do that, wow. ❤ ❤
