In other news…
So, not having a great day, not feeling 100%, decided to do something with the day and go get groceries, something I NEVER do on Saturday and usually not until I need a lot of stuff, but WTH, I needed bananas, eggs and dog food and some other stuff so I made my list and headed out at 2:30 for my 3:00 grocery pick up appointment. All went well, except the radio sucked, but whatev’
Then a couple of blocks from home I saw the sign “Covid Event: High School” so I made a quick turn into the wrong parking lot, got straightened out, filled in five forms and pulled my arm out of my sweaters and…
I got the first shot!!!! š
If it had been a better day, if I hadn’t decided to do my shopping, if I hadn’t been out there at that very moment, only 30 minutes before they stopped giving shots, I wouldn’t have. As I waited in the parking lot for 15 minutes to be sure I didn’t have a reaction, the kids’ dad pulled up next to me, having just gotten his shot, and we had a great time talking. Really really really amazing. The kids’ dad (who’s in his 40s) was there because his mechanics shop has been sent several broken water pumps from Texas to repair and he is now an essential worker.
Tomorrow Bear and I will go to the Refuge and thank the powers. ā¤
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes!!!!!
Yay for first shot, yay for dog food, etc, yay for chat with kids’ dad, yay for no reaction, yay for broken water pumps, and best of all yay for a walk with Bear tomorrow ⤠š !
I’m so grateful right now. What a strange series of events. Bear will be so happy tomorrow. ā¤
Woohoo!
That is an amazing example of the Universe shouting…Go To The Store! Another meant to be moment – sorta like the boots. Congratulations!! (did you get a sticker??? š)
I’m so jazzed and truly, that was mysterious, but I’m just grateful. I didn’t get the sticker but maybe with the second shot. It’s OK if I don’t. š
Grateful and jazzed is plenty enough for one day. And I think you’re right – it would be after the second shot. š
This whole year has shown me that I don’t really understand anything and stuff happens. š
That about sums it up. š
Congratulations! I get my second shot tomorrow and I have never been so excited to get punctured in my life!
Yay!!!!
I couldn’t believe it when I saw that sign and just got it done. I am VERY happy!
Good for you. We still have weeks to go before we can register for our shots.
It was a big surprise. I registered, but not with the people I got the shot from. It was a series of amazing coincidences culminating in the fact that they had more shots at the end of the day than people who had shown up. I didn’t know that. I just showed up when I saw the sign and it was 30 minutes before they were closing up. When I woke up this morning I had hit a wall with this virus and just wanted the shot. NO IDEA I’d get one today. I signed up at my clinic and they still don’t have them. It was pure, pure, pure luck.
Hi Martha, new follower. My friend Karla from Flannel with Faith pointed me in your direction. I’m already loving this. Good for you! I need to get brave and go get my shot soon. I ended up with Covid over Christmas so not in too much of a hurry. But you’re bravery is helpful. Thanks,
Lisa
I’m not brave. I just got lucky. I’m very happy you recovered from Covid and it would seem probable that you have some level of immunity already. But the shot did not hurt AT ALL (not so far anyway). Welcome to my blog. I love reading Karla’s. š
Me too š
Great! I’m glad you were able to get one. That is how it was when we got ours, we just happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Isn’t it amazing? You (well I did) look and register and wait and POOF! There it is.
I get the first one next Wednesday. I’m okay with that. š
š
Hi Martha I am so happy you had a kismet day. We have just begun rolling out vaccinations in Australia. Though your need in the States is so much greater. So glad for you. Enjoy your walk with Bear.

I yelled a hooray!!! It was meant to be. Iām so glad you needed groceries ā¤ļøš
Me too. š
Great news! Glad you got it, now you need to wait three weeks for it to take properly. Our government is rolling it out by age, oldest first, so I had my first shot this week. Only thing is they are making us wait twelve weeks for the next one!
I go get the next one on March 20. š
Mine isn’t until May!
There are no coincidences! We have to listen to that small quiet voice and when we do wonderful things occur!!
That voice just said, “You might as well go get groceries. Tomorrow might be better.” š
