I figured my next lesson would be about drawing sentient beings, but putting a video together while I was doing that was pretty impossible. I did the next best thing. There’s a lot of white paper and talking at the beginning, but I think it’s important.
I hope you want to give it a try. It’s a lot of fun.
Quick Sketch of Animals

Same journey, so much fun! Thank ya and yes I watched .🙏♒️🐕☮️🌈
This was great, Martha. I love that little cat (surprise!!), and think that looked easy enough to do before starting something a bit more difficult like Teddy. You made it look easy, though, which is good. Makes me want to loosen up and have fun with it, which was your point. Thank you for this!
Seriously Google Japanese Cat Paintings. You will love them!
I am just enjoying the art experience. Zero training just an older white woman from Yonkers, NY who gave me colored pencils and I was working graveyard so I began to draw! Sharon Her name! Gracias!🙏♒️🐕☮️
Very cool. Yeah, just draw. I mean, who cares? 🙂
MAK?🙏💪😃🐕♒️☮️Hi!
I went through a phase where I had a bunch of Japanese art prints. I was amazed at the sense of motion – of the water and trees with so few lines and so little detail. I loved the video – and your little cat is every bit as good as the original!
Thank you. In third grade, when my teacher decided to let me draw in the back instead of trying to teach me math, I drew from Japanese calendars, reproductions of Japanese prints, she gave me. It was a wonderful education, though I didn’t know it at the time. They are so elegant and sufficient. I really love them. 🙂
You make it look so easy, and your commentary is so helpful and reassuring that anyone can do this!!
P.S. Ophelia listened intently to the background barking!
I imagine she understood most of it. 🙂 Doing that kind of drawing takes practice, but it’s fun to practice so pretty soon anyone CAN do it.
😊
Good work! I’ve got to do a presentation on YouTube. I might be getting in touch for tips!
Any time!
😊
