  1. LOVELY iris — what a great color! The wild ones (they grow up on Mt. Gilead) look the same, but they are a very pale lavender. Smaller than the more cultivated ones. It used to be a “thing” to climb (clamber really) up Mt. Gilead to see the wild iris blooming.

    • I love wild iris. I had a thing like that, too, to get up to the Laguna Mountains to see the wild iris blooming there. They bloom in “my” slough, too, but this year I’m not sure. No water 😦

    • It is. I have peonies all budded and I don’t know. Last year we had a late hard freeze and NO peonies and NO apples. I sometimes think they would like us to find a schedule they can rely on…
