“So, Dude, you want to write my life’s story?”
“Which life, Lamont?”
“Hmmm, good question. Not the tree ones. Not a lot going on there. I sprout, I grow, I hang about, I die, I fall.”
“That’s the biography of a tree all-right. What about the time we became lumber?”
“Oh yeah. Well, the end is a blur. I wonder what happened with us? I wonder if we turned into a house or furniture or what?”
“Interesting to think about. We could be the doors in our own houses Lamont, think of that. We could be shelves holding our own books. Heck, we could even have become books. Wood pulp, you know.”
“Whoa. That’s like looking into deep space and realizing you’re looking at stars that aren’t even really there any more.”
“Seriously. Why do you want someone to write your life’s story?”
“I don’t. But it’s today’s prompt and I thought since you know me pretty well, you might…”
“I’m no writer, Lamont.”

I like reading biographies if the subject is interesting, otherwise I don’t think I would want one about me unless you have some spare time? But my Swiss life is not as interesting as the lives you write about in your books I am sure.
Be grateful there is a lot less war, fewer hangings, drownings and burnings of people at the stake in your Swiss life than there was in the “lives” of my Swiss characters. 🙂 What’s the saying? “God preserve me from an interesting life.” Something like that.
Somehow I seriously doubt that your life is not interesting. I’m a fan of your blog it’s extremely interesting. If I were to write your biography I would start with—Her mind was a window that I looked through on a daily basis. 😉 G-uno
You have the job! 🙂 ❤ Thank you. But the tree incarnations were really pretty uneventful…
I liked the originality of it all. It’s always so great to see something different. I find myself reinventing the wheel when I write.
Unless you are reading the biography of George Patton or something. Then you get more battles in vivid detail.
Great spin on the daily prompt! G-uno
I think I would like Teller (the silent partner of Penn & Teller) to be my biographer. The less said, the better.
I’m with you there. It’s not like my life hasn’t been interesting, but I’d like it to remain non-rated…. 😉
Don’t past-life exponents suggest that we often meet each other again somewhere along the line? So on that premise, Lamont could well be the shelf holding your books. Or vice versa. But then you’d have to have brought your bookshelves with you when you moved. Did you?
I couldn’t bring any bookshelves with me when I moved. They were all built-ins in my California house.
